Review: La Pecora Bianca

Written by Margaret Lavin

From the moment you step into La Pecora Bianca you are greeted with a buzzing atmosphere; the sounds of glasses clanking, laughter, and conversation. Within my five times of dining here I have never made a reservation, yet I have always been able to get seated with little to no waiting time. Despite the crowds, the food and drink service is impeccable.

While La Pecora Bianca is famously known as an Italian Restauraunt, they present a very versatile menu. From cheese - burgers, to steak and of course their famous pastas, they offer many choices for many different types of eaters.

I will be reviewing my most recent visit to La Pecora Bianca, rating each dish that I tasted.

To start, we ordered the Local Burrata which consists of three pieces of toasted bread, honey peached apples, hazlenuts, charred radicchio, and burrata. All of the food items within the dish were overwhelming, especially with some unappealing. The honey peached apples, hazlenuts, charred radicchio with the burrata were not complimenting. However, the bread and burrata itself were very good. In this case, it would have been better to stick with simplicity. With the overall price of this dish costing $19 the Local Burrata is a 6/10. For my main course, I ordered the Tagliatelle pasta which consists of beef and pork bolognese. In addition to this, they give you the option to add burrata to your pasta (which I opted for). Notably, this pasta dish contained a lot of cream, making it a very hard dish to finish. The beef and pork bolognese was very delicious, cooked perfectly. In contrast to the Local Burrata dish, every ingredient in the Tagliatelle complimented one another. While the dish could have contained less cream, and despite the cost $26, it deserves a 9.1/10. I highly recommend La Pecora Bianca to anyone!
